Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seekinga First Shift(6AM - 2:30PM)Assembler III (Water Spider)based in Indianapolis, IN. The Assembler III position provides the team with mastery of a majority of tasks on the departmental training matrix and trains assemblers.

Hiring Pay Rate: $20/hr. - $24/hr.plus mandatory overtime as needed (pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Handle materials, manage accurate floor inventory and replenishment for the assembly department
  • Perform a variety of complex production and assembly processes, including operating various production assembly machines and hand tools
  • Visually inspect parts, use basic test equipment to make routine mechanical measurements, communicate issues to the supervisor or lead, and replace faulty components and wiring
  • Pack finished product with necessary hardware and instructional sheets; may be responsible for out of the box quality tasks for closed loop quality processes
  • Train Assemblers I and II, participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities such as KATA, Kaizen, or Six Sigma events, and perform daily 5S

WHAT WE REQUIRE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for fine manipulation, picking, pinching, seizing, holding, grasping, turning, etc.
  • Comfortable working at heights of 20 - 25 feet
  • Experience operating Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs); must be able to become certified

WHAT WE PREFER

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
  • Experience with problem solving tools like 5Y, A3, KATA
  • Exposure to CI methodologies like Kaizen, Six Sigma
  • EHS knowledge with dedication to PPE
