About the position:

The Marketing Email Content Intern is responsible for writing, designing, creating, and curating content primarily for email campaigns and may also write content for social media, advertising, the AMO blog, newsletters, and other brand collateral. This position leads initiatives that elevate email designs/content and increases engagement while also supporting the marketing team with content and editorial needs. They liaison and collaborate with all departments to support marketing efforts.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee content strategies that are implemented appropriately across email marketing initiatives
  • Create new email campaigns and initiatives to increase users and applicants
  • Work with Junior Marketing Director to ensure annual email strategies are implemented
  • Create appropriate content based on email segmentation guides, audience targeting, and content strategies as directed by the Junior and Senior Marketing Directors
  • Develop email marketing templates
  • Monitor campaign performance and adjust campaign content
  • Collaborate across AMO departments and partner organizations to create content that is educational and inspirational
  • Write and curate email, newsletter, and workflow content that is creative and engaging
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders when launching new campaigns, giveaways, or events, ensuring all parties are informed and have all necessary details
  • Provide new ideas for content based on user and visitor engagement/inquiries
  • Respond to tickets in a timely manner, ensuring projects move along and stakeholders are updated
  • Continue to develop market personas and the AMO brand voice, learning about our audiences and developing content that meets unique audience inquiries and demands
  • Work closely with Partnership team to promote presentations
  • Other tasks as assigned

Skills:

  • A high level of written and oral communication skills
  • Possess a strong work ethic
  • Takes ownership of problems, has ability to brainstorm solutions, and demonstrates consistent follow-through
  • Understanding of healthcare and medical education terminology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with an email marketing software a plus
  • Proficient in Adobe products a plus
  • The ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects while working in a results-oriented environment and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as the ability to collaborate across different departments
  • Self-starter: ability to achieve goals without daily supervision
  • Strong analytical skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or working towards bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or equivalent/related field
  • Experience with all aspects of content development
  • Experience managing multiple tasks and projects
